About

Hi, I’m Jason Mance

I’m a home cook in Hilversum, North Holland. Cozy Oven Recipes is my personal food blog, where I share the oven recipes I make in my own kitchen.

How this blog started

I started baking at home because a warm oven made the evening feel settled. The first loaves were uneven. Chicken sometimes came out pale underneath and dry at the edges. I kept notes anyway: how hot my oven ran, which potatoes softened in the same time as the chicken, when a cake needed a loose sheet of foil. Those notes became this site.

How I write each recipe

I cook every recipe in my own kitchen and write the method from that cook, including the time it actually took. Ovens differ, so each recipe also says what the food should look like when it is ready, not only what the clock says.

The recipes are weeknight trays, simple breads, pies, cookies, and soups. Ingredients are ordinary shop items, steps are numbered, and each recipe ends with one practical tip.

A personal blog

This is a personal food blog, not a restaurant, bakery, or shop, and nothing on the site is for sale. I am not a trained chef and I do not list awards. The recipes are home-cooking information, not medical or nutrition advice.

You can read more in the editorial policy and the food-safety note.
