Recipe and Food-Safety Note
The recipes on Cozy Oven Recipes are home-cooking information from Jason Mance’s kitchen in Hilversum. They are not medical advice, not nutrition advice, and not a diet plan. They are not meant to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and they are not a weight-loss program.
Allergens
Check every ingredient against your own allergies and the needs of anyone you cook for. Recipes may include wheat, milk, eggs, and other common allergens even when the title does not say so. If you are unsure about an ingredient, skip the recipe.
Meat and poultry
Cook poultry and meat to a safe internal temperature. Jason uses a thermometer. Chicken should reach 74 C (165 F) in the thickest part, not touching bone. Sausage and other chopped or ground meat should be cooked through, with no pink left in the center, until the middle is hot. Rest meat briefly, then check again if you are unsure.
Time, leftovers, and cleanliness
Clock times are a guide from one home oven. Bread is done when it is browned and cooked in the center. Vegetables are done when they are tender. Refrigerate leftovers within two hours, and reheat them until they are steaming hot.
Wash hands, boards, and knives after they touch raw meat. Keep raw poultry away from food that will not be cooked again.
If you are pregnant, cooking for someone who needs extra care with food safety, or unsure about an ingredient, use advice from a qualified professional or your local food-safety authority. This page cannot replace that.
